Trees

Home-made from twisted wires...

On the mini-layout, I needed some trees, preferably home-built. I had some ideas on how to do this, but an article in Modelspoormagazine gave some extra information.

I used various types of wires: plastified, coated or blank, and both iron and copper wires. At the left picture, a row of 15 trees is ready for the next step. At right, you see them in detail. The one on the left hand side already got a coating with glue and sawdust.

Next steps: a layer of primer paint, some texture to the lower part using Tamiya putty, next the fine branches from kitchen damp filter material, painting and the tiny leafs are attached using Pattex spray glue (Heki 1620)

I wanted to build some other trees, too, and made some birches using MiniNatur manscape material for the folliage. Two of these trees can be seen at left, the completed forest on my mini-layout at right.
