Overview of the block security system

This system is based on the security system, used by the 'real' railroads: only one train can occupy a section of track. Trains have to wait to enter this section, and stop or slow down according to the signal they 'see'.

Every block in the drawing below represents a module, an electronic device, connected to other modules.
